Finding Time to Listen to your Heart. We have been asked the following question by one of our Customers. Please see what some of our Psychics have to say.
Hello,I'm having a hard time finding quietness to listen to my heart (my spirit voice, or whatever you may call it). I know I would benefit from meditating longer than the 20 minutes I sometimes do. But, as I said, without having the quietness - since I have a young child around - I do not seem to be able to tune in more and better.
Would there be any other way to get more into listening to myself?
Sincerely,
Hermina

My specialty is to offer remedial suggestions in the form of spiritual practices, lifestyle modifications, and herbs, flower remedies, and gem elixirs tailored to each individual through the reading of the astrological birth chart. When someone has difficulty finding quiet within, there is often a Moon and/or Mercury affliction along with a specific transit or planetary cycle that is activating the natal afflictions involved. These matters can only be discerned through a careful reading of the natal horoscope, which is erected specifically for the date, *time* and place of the individual's birth.
Generally, without examining the horoscope, there are a few things I would recommend for this.
Flower remedies which you can buy online at FES: Click Here
- Rescue Remedy, also called Five Flower Remedy: A blend of five essences to restore emotional balance.
- White chestnut to calm and clear the mind, to stop incessant mental chatter and worry, and to bring inner quiet.
- Star Tulip, to help us connect with the Inner Presence and attune to quiet inner states of awareness.
- Larch or Sunflower to improve confidence in this specific case, as I feel this is in need of strengthening.
The other thing that is very helpful is an herb you can buy in any health food store called Gotu Kola, which is a brain food that calms the mind and aids inner attunement. Gotu Kola, also called "Brahmi" in India, is a common plant that is good for all constitutional types. Interestingly, the leaves of this plant look exactly like the two hemispheres of the brain, which reveals that it was put on this planet by God for the purpose of deeply nourishing the brain and nervous system. Gotu Kola is also good for the adrenal glands, liver and skin. I usually recommend 2-4 capsules in the morning and/or early afternoon with food. Possible but rare side effects could be a mild headache or itching of the skin, in which case you should just take 1-2 capsules in the morning. Many people prefer to take it in tea or in a liquid elixir.
She may also need to accept and acknowledge that her spiritual path at this time is first and foremost to be a mother. This is the greatest spiritual path anyone can ever have, and she may not know how blessed she is by it. She may need to stay more fully focused and present with her child! They need to spend time outside in nature. Just walking in the woods together will clear their energy systems and calm the mother's "monkey mind." Be together in water as much as possible, through swimming or baths. Daily bathing in a combination of sea or Epsom salt and baking soda, a handful of each, with several drops of lavender essential oil, will help to clear the aura, ground the energies and calm the mind. This will help her stay calm. The best way to stay grounded and peaceful is to stay focused in the Miraculous
Now. For more on this topic, read
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
The best time to meditate is in the early morning before the Sun comes up. This is when the spiritual forces are most sublime and when you can connect more deeply with spiritual power. Walking beside the seashore, and particularly at low tide, is another time when you will be more able to attune within. If your child is up early, put him or her on your lap and meditate with the child as best you can. I am also a mother and know that sometimes, this is more challenging than others, especially when you are exhausted by your 24/7 job of mothering and when your child has so much energy to go-go-go!
I really feel you will benefit when you surrender to your mothering role and realize how important your child is. The Goddess will reward you a thousand-fold when you love and care for your child and when you make sacrifices for the child. This is how you can best tune into the Divine Presence, through worshiping your own beloved child. If you cannot have a full sitting meditation practice now, so be it. Worship instead on the altar of your child's heart.
Love and light,
Tara

In response to the woman who has a hard time finding a sense of inner quiet, I have a suggestion. When you get to sit down to close your eyes, there is a good chance that you find your attention put on things outside of yourself and feel the constant need to RESPOND. This makes any retreat from the outer world all the more difficult. So, here is a way to call your attention back to yourself. Close your eyes and allow yourself to imagine some sort of connection that connects your body to the center of the planet. I like to visualize this as seeing my seat connected to a waterfall that connects to the center of earth... though you can create any image you want and change it, just as you change every day. Allow this grounding to act as a way to let go of that which you are ready to release. Could be pain, worry, tension, etc.... Then notice where your attention is... on your child, a conversation, at work, handling some kind of problem. Just as easily as you have found where you are, you can call YOUR energy back. Sometimes I like to imagine that I am a magnet for my own energy and just let the magnet turn on. Allow your body to be refueled with your essence. You might then find that you can more easily find your sense of inner calm, and thereby heal and replenish your body.
We all do this - lavish our energy on many things and issues outside of our personal universe. And we all contribute to the epidemic of stress in our lives by being spread so thin. It is as if we have been taught that we must operate outside of ourselves in order to be effective in life. But spiritual practice always incorporates this concept of home, of an inner life and developing an ongoing meditation space is vital for creating a personal space.
Just of few thoughts!
Julie

Questions about meditation. If you're having difficulty setting aside big blocks of quiet time, go for shorter meditations. A five minute meditation can yield amazing results. Rather than one session of meditation, go for two or three spread out during the day. Even a one minute meditation can be effective. Another very effective way to listen to your soul is through writing. Keep a journal and write down what comes through in the mornings after sleep or any time during the day.
